Tony Todd's website has trailers for two of his upcoming movies: The Thirst and The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. As far as I'm concerned, every horror movie trailer should have a Tony Todd voiceover, whether or not he's actually in the film.

December 11:

Poor Pretty Eddie (AKA Black Vengeance)

December 6:

Haunted Spooks

December 1:

Always good for a smile: Night of the Living Dead in 30 seconds...and re-enacted by bunnies

This isn't horror-related, but it might come in handy: "How to Avoid Alienating Your Black Friends".

November 15:

Ice Spiders

November 12:

Can't get enough of black people playing servants and savages? Well, Turner Classic Movies is featuring black roles all through November, including early horror films like Boys of the City, Spooks Run Wild, Gildersleeve's Ghost, King Kong, and Mexican Spitfire Sees a Ghost. They're classic because they're old!

November 10:

Revenge of the Zombies

Somebody Help Me

October 27:

Tales From the Quadead Zone

October 25:

Somebody Help Me, a slasher from the folks who brought you You Got Served (let that sink in), comes out on DVD November 13, but you can catch a sneak peek of the entire movie on BET Halloween night! That means it's free. Cable is free, right? Click the pic below to see a trailer.

October 24:

Return to House on Haunted Hill

Also, check out Possum Death Spree! No black people to speak of, but pretty darn funny.

October 22:

BlackHorrorMovies.com is quoted in this week's Jet Magazine! Or, as old people call it, "the Jet". It's an article on Lyriq Bent's role in Saw IV. Click the cover to see the article (pdf format).

The DVD for Holla is releasing October 9 from Lionsgate Studios, and lo and behold, look at the quote at the top of the cover! In your face, Ebert...and that other dude...and the guest host filling in for Ebert this week while he recuperates from his stroke or thumb amputation or whatever it is that's wrong with him. Yes, in your face, too! Holla!

April Fools DVD

Wow, we've got a real bounty of black horror on the way. The latest is April Fools, featuring likeable character actor Obba Babatunde (see Necronomnicon) and -- stop me if you've heard this before -- a hooded killer! We can probably eliminate Mr. T as a suspect, since it's widely known that he pities the fool. The movie comes out September 11. Don't be a "fool"; check out the trailer here.

August 8:

Are we in for a nouveaux Blaxploitation horror movement? Here are a couple of promising upcoming flicks that are headed in the right direction. Oh me oh my...(drool noises)

Black Devil Doll, from the fine folks at RottenCotton.com, was recently featured in this Fangoria article!
See www.myspace.com/blackdevildolldvd.

Ken Foree as we've all been longing to see him: jolly...and pissed! From the twisted mind behind BadAzzMofo.com, it's Black Santa's Revenge: www.myspace.com/blacksantamovie.

August 6:

Check out these behind-the-scenes shots of the upcoming Blood RIver, the directorial debut of Shedrack Anderson III, who you might remember as Rudy from the live-action Fat Albert movie. He was also killed in the fun slasher Drive-Thru, and by the looks of things in the third pic below, he doesn't fare much better here. Oh well, he's behind the camera, so who cares? And look, it's Bubba Smith! Can't wait!

August 4:

The Hills Have Eyes 2

August 3:

Black zombies! Here are some cool behind-the-scenes pics of CBS's zombie show "Babylon Fields," courtesy of Black Horror Movies reader Johnathan Swindell (pictured). Black-Italian hottie Leila Arcieri is also featured in the show, which, last I heard, was tabbed as a mid-season replacement. Thanks, Johnathan!
