Tony Todd's website has trailers for two of his upcoming movies: The Thirst and The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. As far as I'm concerned, every horror movie trailer should have a Tony Todd voiceover, whether or not he's actually in the film.

Can't get enough of black people playing servants and savages? Well, Turner Classic Movies is featuring black roles all through November, including early horror films like Boys of the City, Spooks Run Wild, Gildersleeve's Ghost, King Kong, and Mexican Spitfire Sees a Ghost. They're classic because they're old!

Wow, we've got a real bounty of black horror on the way. The latest is April Fools, featuring likeable character actor Obba Babatunde (see Necronomnicon) and -- stop me if you've heard this before -- a hooded killer! We can probably eliminate Mr. T as a suspect, since it's widely known that he pities the fool. The movie comes out September 11. Don't be a "fool"; check out the trailer here.

Are we in for a nouveaux Blaxploitation horror movement? Here are a couple of promising upcoming flicks that are headed in the right direction. Oh me oh my...(drool noises)
Black Devil Doll, from the fine folks at RottenCotton.com, was recently featured in this Fangoria article!
See www.myspace.com/blackdevildolldvd.

Ken Foree as we've all been longing to see him: jolly...and pissed! From the twisted mind behind BadAzzMofo.com, it's Black Santa's Revenge: www.myspace.com/blacksantamovie.

Check out these behind-the-scenes shots of the upcoming Blood RIver, the directorial debut of Shedrack Anderson III, who you might remember as Rudy from the live-action Fat Albert movie. He was also killed in the fun slasher Drive-Thru, and by the looks of things in the third pic below, he doesn't fare much better here. Oh well, he's behind the camera, so who cares? And look, it's Bubba Smith! Can't wait!

Black zombies! Here are some cool behind-the-scenes pics of CBS's zombie show "Babylon Fields," courtesy of Black Horror Movies reader Johnathan Swindell (pictured). Black-Italian hottie Leila Arcieri is also featured in the show, which, last I heard, was tabbed as a mid-season replacement. Thanks, Johnathan!
